So that we could write this update, we’ve been looking back over all the amazing activities which took place at the end of last year (Christmas seems like a while ago already), and what a busy time it was! So many fantastic fundraising activities put on by lovely individuals who kindly gave their time and effort so that a whole range of people got to have a great time while the ARC project benefitted.

At the end of November, the very successful Clothes Exchange evening raised £1,174; thanks for coming and swapping all those clothes ladies! The beginning of December saw Liz Hall’s 1st Binfield Rainbow and Brownie units igniting the festive spirit with their carol singing at Tesco in Warfield, and they raised a fantastic £407. This was followed by Dads R Loud providing the entertainment while we ate amazing curry kindly donated by the Binfield Village Stores team at our Christmas Party, which raised another £813. Trudy Inge and her friend Rose put on a wonderful workshop where we made some beautiful decorations to brighten up our Christmas tables (see picture), raising £400, while the sale of Margareta Hawkins gingerbread churches generated another £387.

We also had lots of lovely items available to buy including mistletoe, the fantastic Binfield Village Calendar (which has now sold out), the Whizz Kids tea towel, and all those knitted items, handmade by lots of clever people which also sold really well! Thank you to everyone who sponsored, contributed and bought these items and added to the fund!

All this activity was topped off by a very kind, large donation which came in at the end of December to really finish the year on a high.

So after the break, we’re ready to start another year of fundraising to continue to support the repair work. Thanks to you all, we are able to start some of the work in the Spring, but we still have a way to go to be able to carry out all of the work needed. Look out for new fundraising activities, and let us know if you’d like to get involved!
